First Years Hawaii is committed to the educational enrichment of all children in Hawaii during their early developmental years. Our focus is on creating positive learning experiences, through the development of programs and media, for infants, toddlers and child care providers, while perpetuating traditional Hawaiian culture and values.

Our Vision:
First Years Hawaiiʻs vision is to improve the educational value provided by licensed Family Child Care Providers in the State of Hawaii.
First Years Hawaii (FYH) is a 501(c) (3) tax exempt non profit organization established in 2006. Our Board of Directors consists of four young mothers whose lives revolve around our children. We are all working mothers with career goals who manage to find the balance between family and work. Together we found the need to kokua in improving educational quality in our licensed Family Child Cares.
First Years Hawaii was founded with the following purposes in mind:
- To promote unity, cooperation and the exchange of ideas among licensed Family Child Care Providers and others involved in early childhood education.
- To provide licensed Family Child Care Providers with the essential tools for early childhood educational opportunities.
- To develop and distribute materials, including media, that promotes cultural awareness and education for Hawaii children aiding in their educational advancement during school age years
- To cultivate the advancement of Native Hawaiian children cared for in Family Child Care homes.
