Quarterly Activity Sheet
Promotes Hawaiian language and culture as it relates to early childhood development. Math and critical thinking skills are use to sharpen the children’s familiarity with basics.
Baby Loves Disco (BLD)
FYH brought BLD to Honolulu to launch their name to the community. Balloons, activity sheets & giveaways were sponsored by FYH as part of their launching campaign.
2008 King Kamehameha Day Parade
Post parade day activities; FYH was invited by the Hawaii Pono I Coalition to run the Makahiki games at Kapiolani Park. Along with sea animal tattoos and FYH balloons, traditional Hawaiian Makahiki games we set up for the public’s education & enjoyment. FYH also coordinated their first annual King Kamehameha Day festival Uma Tournament (Hawaiian arm wrestling).
Nohea the Puppet
First Years Hawaii received a grant from the Friends of Hawaii Charities to develop a puppet that will go out into the community and promote education and Hawaiian Culture to young children. The puppet is currently in the making by puppet maker Heather Asch of New York. Nohea will be finished by the end of the year and will make her debut shortly after.
